Good Evening, Race Report fans and welcome to your first report of 2026. In my view, its (almost) never too late to wish people a Happy New Year. I hope you had a wonderful festive season. First of all, huge thanks to those who gave up their time to marshal yesterday at the Chiltern League in Watford. As a Club we get so much out of our participation in the league and so it is great that we fulfil our obligation and give back. Well done to all who ran and watch out for Steve P’s report. Patrick and Becs... looks like Lowndes Park? At the other end of the running spectrum, several Harriers (and friends) were in action in Country to Capital – a 43-mile point-to-point race from Wendover to Little Venice in London, with a long stretch on the Grand Union Canal. I love my trail running, but I am still not sure that you could pay me to do that race! Becs Nkoane led the Club home, smiling all the way and running the event in memory of former Harrier, Ben Martin. Becs finished in 7.11.25 and was first in her age category, by my reckoning. She was joined by Patrick Barrett (7.27.12) and Annelize Colquhoun (8.05.05). A brave effort by Richard Moss, who was forced to pull out at 14 miles due to illness. Meanwhile today Chris Lindeque completed the Woodcote 10k. Chris recommends the event, which is organised by the local Rotary, and which he says is somewhat ‘Pednor-like’. He clocked a time of 51.21. Well done! COMING UP LOCALLY: the Fred Hughes 10 Miles, Last Friday of the Month, Mornington Chasers Regent’s Park 10k, Watford Half Marathon and the fifth (and final) Chiltern League match of the season. Check out the Club Calendar for these races, and more (updated to the end of April ;-) ) THE THING ABOUT RACE REPORT: I am not psychic. If you’ve done an event, or know someone who has done an event, please do send me a quick email with your result (and any photos!) so I can include it in a future iteration of Race Report. Email me at [email protected] Comments are closed.
