The Bucks Track and Field Championships took place last weekend at a warm and sunny Horspath Stadium in Oxford, in conjunction with the Oxfordshire Championships. There were some great performances from Chiltern athletes with several medals and personal best performances. Saturday
There was a Chiltern 1-2-3 in U13 boys javelin with Nicholas Janisch first with 24.29m, Max Hall second with 23.22m, and Jack Dixon third with 22.69m. Colin Miles was fifth in U15 Boys javelin with 30.54m, Alex McCloy seventh in 22.53m. On the girls side of U15 javelin Juliette MacDougall was third with 18.37m and Bethan Lloyd fourth with 17.53m. Rose Goding won bronze in U17 javelin with 20.65m and Ffion Harman was second in U20 javelin with a PB of 19.64m. The U13 girls 1500m saw a good battle between Emilia Ingham and new recruit Aura Lue-Fong with Aura just winning out to win gold with a PB of 5.23.44 to Emilia’s 5.24.16. The U15 girls 1500m had a big Chiltern presence with Alice Martin second in a PB 5.13.30, Juliette MacDougall third in 5.16.14, Nell Frost fourth in a PB 5.19.25 and Bea Robinson fifth in 5.19.46. In the U17 women’s race Evelyn Wildman continued her good form to be second in 4.42.05, with Issy Robinson fourth in 5.01.79. In the U13 boys 1500m Thomas Cooper ran a PB to be fifth in 5.26.26. Jonathan Kalibbala was sixth in 5.32.74 and Jack Dixon ran a PB of 5.49.85 to be the eighth. Thomas was also seventh in javelin and eighth in long jump. Harrison Lawrence was fourth in U15 boys 1500m with Isaac Taylor sixth, and there were PBs from Colin Miles seventh in 5.01.97, Kit Dixon eighth in 5.08.06, and John Rooney ninth in 5.20.97. Bethan Lloyd scored a PB of 44.95 to be fourth in U15 300m. Abi Masters was also in PB form to win silver in U17 300m in a PB of 43.79. Yasmin Warnes was third in U20 400m in a PB of 64.54. Nia Beckford won her 100m in 14.57 and was third in the final in 14.60. Nia continued her medal haul with silver in long jump with 3.87m. Chaise Duff was fourth in U17 long jump with 4.17m. Chaise also made the U17 100m final and was seventh in a PB of 14.57, with Sophia Moore eighth in 15.14 after a heat of 14.86. Alex McCloy was seventh in the U15 100m final in 14.50. Max Hall was fifth in the 100m final in 14.51, after running a PB of 14.41 in the heat. George Callow ran 15.88 in the heat. Emile Morti had a great day, gold in U17 100m hurdles in 13.59 and a new PB of 11.13 to be second in 100m. In high jump Nia Beckford won silver in U13 girls with 1.30m and Holly Knott jumped the same height to be second in the U15 girls competition. In U15 girls long jump Bliss Bushay logged a PB of 4.00m to be sixth. Bethan Lloyd was seventh in 3.84m, Gaia Ferrero was eighth in 3.78m, and Juliette MacDougall tenth in 3.60m. Isla Dalby was third in U17 triple jump with 10.73m. Sunday The U13 boys 200m saw Barnaby Williams third in 29.71. U17 Abi Masters ran a PB 27.47 in the 200m heat and was fifth in the final in 27.51. U15 Bliss Bushay ran a PB of 29.60 in the heat and was fifth in the final in 30.00. The U13 girls 800m saw Aura Lue-Fong win bronze in 2.38.30 with Lottie Monnington running a big PB of 2.41.34 to be fourth. In the U17 women’s 800m Evelyn Wildman scored a great win in a strong new PB of 2.14.22. Barnaby Williams ran a PB of 2.32.74 in U13 boys 800m and Jonathan Kalibbala was eighth in 2.44.05. In the U15 boys 800m there were PBs for Harrison Lawrence (seventh in 2.20.29), Jacob McCall (eighth in 2.29.66), and John Rooney (tenth in 2.37.19). Isaac McCall was 12th in 2.38.98. There was success in U13 hurdles with Nia Beckford winning gold in girls 70m hurdles in a PB 12.75, and Max Hall winning boys 75m hurdles in a PB 14.85. Holly Knott won silver in U15 girls 75m hurdles in 13.97. Emile Morti scorched to great win in 400m hurdles in 55.39, putting him third in the national rankings. Ffion Harman was also in PB form to win U20 400m hurdles in 67.73. In U13 girls discus Lottie Monnington won silver with 12.43m, and Bronwen Harman was third in U15 discus with 10.07m. In the U20 men’s event Adam Babade was fourth with 35.38m and Adam added third in shot with 11.06m. Comments are closed.
