Nineteen Chiltern athletes took part for their county schools teams at the final big cross country of the season on Saturday. The English Schools Championships were held at a sunny but chilly Ardingly Showground in West Sussex, and firm but uneven ground on fast but undulating courses made from some great racing. Intermediate Girls
Megan Lockwood had a good run for Buckinghamshire Schools in the first race of the day, 148th and sixth scorer in the team that came fifth, the best Bucks team performance of the day. Junior Boys On a very short 2.8k course Harrison Lawrence came 228th and Toby Reynolds 330th running for the Bucks Junior Boys team. Junior Girls The Bucks Junior Girls were 17th and featured a good crop of young Chiltern runners. Maya Davis was second scorer in 94th, Juliette Macdougall was third scorer in 120th, and Loren Gerber sixth scorer in 216th. First years Alice Martin in 229th and Nell Frost in 249th gained good experience. Intermediate Boys There was also good Chiltern representation in the Inter Boys race. For the Bucks team that came 14th Edward Johnson was first scorer in 29th with Aidan Suleyman fifth scorer in 155th and Thomas Reynolds in 201st. For Hertfordshire Tom Ford was first scorer in 42nd and James Holdsworth fourth scorer in 132nd. Senior Girls Alice Peckham was fifth Bucks scorer in 190th in the Senior Girls race with Jo Snelling in 240th. Emily Ford was first Herts scorer in 98th. Senior Boys Archie Pinder completed his schools cross country career as first scorer for the Bucks team in 92nd. Callum Powell was second scorer in 132nd and Jack Turner fourth scorer in 284th.
