ESAA Schools Cup - Bucks County Round

Several young Chiltern Harriers ran in the Bucks County round of the English Schools Cross Country Cup on Tuesday.
 
There were some excellent runs across the age groups and several local schools have progressed to the Regional Final at Cokethorpe School in Oxfordshire on November 4th.
 
The courses were fairly flat round playing fields and tended to be on the short side, especially the junior races.
 
Junior Girls
Lottie Monnington (DCHS) ran very well for second place with Aura Lue Fong (Wycombe Abbey) fifth. Amelia Hanstein (Chesham) was 18th.
 
Junior Boys
There was some good packing from the DCGS runners in this one – Barnaby Williams seventh, Jack Dixon eighth, and Thomas Cooper tenth.
 
Inter Girls
It was close at the front of the Inter Girls race with Nell Frost (Wycombe Abbey) third, Juliette MacDougall (Wycombe High) fourth, Maya Davis (DCHS) fifth, and Nia Clarke (Chesham) eighth. Aiyla Haigh was 15th and Amelia Qasam 29th for DCHS.
 
Inter Boys
Logan Gaskell (Thorpe House) was second, Harrison Lawrence (DCGS) fourth, Isaac McCall (DCGA) eighth, Isaac Taylor (DCGS) ninth, and Colin Miles (Borlase) tenth. Toby Reynolds (Thorpe House) was 16th.
 
Senior Girls
Evelyn Wildman ran well to win the Senior Girls race, with Issy Robinson (Chesham) sixth. Alice Peckham (Chesham) was ninth, Megan Lockwood (Chesham) 12th, Lara Milburn (Borlase) 16th, Ffion Harman (Wycombe High) 17th, Lydia Cross (DCHS) 18th, Abi Masters (Wycombe High) 24th and Rebecca Lawson (DCHS) 25th.
 
Senior Boys
There was a good Chiltern presence at the front of this race with Edward Johnson (Aylesbury) taking the win. Aidan Suleyman (DCGS) was second, Thomas Reynolds (DCGS) sixth, Daniel Munn (DCGS) eighth, Charlie Quantrill (DCGS) ninth, Eddie O’Brien (DCGS) tenth, and Zach Cleary (Aylesbury) 11th. Felix Danielli (DCGS) was 18th.
 
The Regional Round on November 4th sees most of those athletes compete again for their schools against stiffer competition from Bedfordshire, Northants, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
