There was good Chiltern representation in the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire teams at the National Inter Counties at Wollaton Park, Nottingham on Saturday. A total of 27 donned their county vests at this prestigious end of season meeting. After a week of dry weather, and with a warm, sunny day on Saturday, the parkland course was fast and firm, making for great spectating conditions. First race off was the U20 men and Toby Radbourne was the third Bucks finisher in 168th.
Next up were the U13 Girls which featured a good crop of Chiltern runners. Juliette MacDougall was first Bucks girl home in 19th (the highest Chiltern placing of the day) and also running well to complete the scoring four were Bea Robinson 100th, Nell Frost 107th and Loren Gerber 120th. Emilia Ingham was 184th and Holly Knott was 228th. The Bucks team was 19th. Of the four Bucks Senior Women competing two were Chiltern and Maddie Hughes was first scorer in 158th with Katie Royals fourth scorer in 222nd. Ther weren’t any Chiltern boys in the U15 Bucks team but Tom Ford was 38th in that race and part of the Herts team that came fifth. The Bucks U17 women were 17th with Issy Robinson fourth scorer in 165th and Alice Peckham seventh finisher in 196th. Emily Ford was second Herts scorer in 140th. Edward Johnson was first Bucks U17 man in 32nd with James Holdsworth second scorer in 102nd. Aidan Suleyman was fifth Bucks finisher in 199th and Zach Cleary was eighth finisher in 272nd. Callum Powell was fifth finisher in the Herts team, finishing in 123rd. The Bucks U13 Boys were 17th with Harrison Lawrence third scorer in 110th. Toby Reynolds was 257th and Zac Taylor 261st. In the U20 women’s race Bucks were 12th with Jo Snelling fourth scorer in 110th. Bucks U15 Girls were 11th with Maya Davis third scorer in 95th, Evelyn Wildman fourth scorer in 108th and Megan Lockwood sixth finisher in182nd. Finally the Senior Men had a full team of nine out which finished 23rd. The Bucks runners packed well with James Palmer fifth scorer in 169th and Tim Lawrence eighth finisher in 191st. Some of the youngsters will race again on March 15th at the English Schools at Haywards Heath, marking the end of the cross country season for most. Comments are closed.
