There were some good runs from Chiltern athletes at the National Road relay Championships at Sutton Coldfield on Saturday. As with the Southern relays, the U17 Men were the best performing team, coming an excellent sixth.
The event features some of the best endurance talent in the country with teams from all over England taking part. In bright but blustery conditions Chiltern had representation in the U13 Boys, U15 Boys and U17 Mens categories. All young athletes tackle the same 3.9k undulating course. The Chiltern U15 boys team saw good efforts from Harrison Lawrence (13.42), Isaac McCall (14.31) and Jacob McCall (14.30) in the team that came 46th. John Rooney (16.06) and Toby Reynolds (15.09) were in an incomplete B team. In an incomplete U13 Boys team, Barnaby Williams ran 15.53 and Jack Dalton 15.49 to gain good experience. Tom Ford had a great run leading off the U17 men’s A team, coming second in a very quick 11.37. James Holdsworth (12.20) and Edward Johnson (12.12) both ran well to keep the team in the mix, finishing sixth from the 74 complete teams. The B team also did well with Aidan Suleyman (12.26), Charlie Quantrill (13.05) and Thomas Reynolds (13.08) combining to finish 34th. Comments are closed.
