Good Evening, Race Report fans. Well, I don’t know what else you might be doing this evening except reading Race Report. I don’t think there is anything happening, is there? Fortunately, there are loads of results for you to get your teeth into. A huge congratulations, first of all, to those Chiltern Harriers who were representing their county at the English Schools Track & Field Championships, 12 - 13 July. It is an absolutely huge achievement to even be a part of those events. Do look out for a future report from Steve Perkin to find out how they all got on. Meanwhile, in triathlon news Neil Turner won his age group, coming home 10th overall at the 2025 European Triathlon qualifier at Dorney Lake yesterday, 13 July, clocking a great time of 1.01.57 amongst an elite field. Well deserved ‘kudos’ for that performance. A number of Harriers were also in action in the Chesham Fun Triathlon: Oliver Dixon (14.39 in the ‘steel’ age category); Jack Dixon and Emilia Ingham (19.37 and 18.21 in the ‘bronze’ age group); Kit Dixon (24.11 in ‘silver’ group); and Maya Davis, Isaac Taylor, Jack Turner, Isaac and Jacob McCall (28.51, 25.23, 27.02, 26.18 and 26.06 in the ‘gold’ group). Finally, Amit Dixit has been taking part in something rather fantastical-sounding, called the Croyde Ocean Triathlon… Well done Chiltern triathletes!
Earlier on in the week, Harry Cox was in action at the British Milers Club Gold Standard Races in Watford, clocking a speedy 4.09.26 in the 1500m. Coming back to this weekend, Fiona Kelleher ran in the Running Channel 10k, finishing in a strava time of 41.59. Ben Hannen was a brilliant 9th position in the dramatic-sounding Lundy Island Race (Half Marathon), in a time of 2.05.06 (again, that’s a strava time). Closer to home there was a great Harriers contingent at the XNRG Humanity Direct Chiltern Ultra. In the 50k race, Alistair Melville-Smith led the group home, making his debut to ultra running to finish in an awesome 4th place in a time of 4.36.21! He was joined by Archie Bellamy (6.14.59); Tim Dutfield (6.52.59); and Chris Pitkin (7.43.20). In the 25km event, Tessa Passey finished in 2.40.47; Lauren Mayot - 2.57.07; and Doug Smith - 3.01.41. And finally, in parkrun news: well done to Daire Stack and Tom Dixon for first placed finishes at Black Park (17.16) and Church Mead (18.31), respectively. Ed Wright was rewarded for his efforts with a course PB at Rushmere (24.03), while Rebecca Lawson completed her 100th parkrun at Black Park (25.17). COMING UP LOCALLY: the Waddesdon Manor Summer Evening 5k, Watford and Oxford graded open track meets, Youth Development League, Last Friday of the Month 5k, EA Track & Field Champs and the Bearbrook 10k. More details on these events, and more in the Club Calendar. Comments are closed.
