Good Evening, Race Report fans. I help you have been enjoying the weather as much as we have been here at Race Report HQ.
Most of this week’s results come from yesterday, Saturday 22 June. We’ll kick things off with parkrun: there was a first placed finish for Becs Nkoane at one of my old stomping grounds, Canon Hill Park (great cross-country course) in a time of 20.39; Ed Wright earned himself a course PB on Littlehampton Prom (21.55); and massive congratulations to Doug King for hitting the milestone of his 250th parkrun at Gadebridge - in a time of 32.43. In the Misbourne 10k trail race, held in Great Missenden, it was a third win on the trot for Chiltern’s James Palmer (38.56), who led in new member Daire Stack in second place (39.24), and Neil Turner in their (41.10). Mark Liggins, another new member, finished in a very respectable 51.48, while Club stalwart Steve Field was first V70 in 74.46. Well done, Harriers! Meanwhile, over in Loughborough four Chiltern athletes faced off against stiff competition in the British Milers Club Grand Prix. Twins Archie and Euan Pinder took part in the 800m heats, clocking times of 1.54.12 and 1.57.87, respectively. In the 1500m events, Tom Emery came home in 3.56.98 and Leon Doran in 4.05.31. And finally, Lauren Mayot and Ben Hannen braved the heat and the hills of the Midsummer Murder trail races today. Lauren completed the 10 mile event, finishing in 1.47.44 and bagging 1st V40 for her efforts, while Ben finished the (rather long) half marathon in 2.21.08. COMING UP LOCALLY: Watford and Oxford graded open track meets, the Ridgeway Relay, Youth Development League, Last Friday of the Month 5k, the Thame 10k, English Schools Track & Field Champs, Humanity Direct Chiltern Ultra and EA Track & Field Champs. More details on these events, and more in the Club Calendar. Comments are closed.
