Happy Glasto weekend, Race Report fans. (Yes, I know. Runners are not necessarily music fans, but here in HQ we are enjoying catching up with Pulp’s surprise set… I'm not cool enough for Charli XCX). A few weekends ago saw the fabulous Cliveden Classic 10k (14 June). Steve Field survived the steps in a time of 1.13.20. The following weekend (21 June) Jenny Bizley was 2nd female in the Misbourne Trail 10k (51.03), and Jack Turner was 3rd overall in the 5k (19.47). ![]() Moving on to this weekend, Chiltern ultra tough-men Giles Greenhalgh and Ade McCormack took on 73km of Peak District trail. While Giles had to retire after a battle fought to the very last checkpoint, Ade made it to the darkened finish line in Bakewell. Well done both of you! The heat and hills looked menacing and amazing, all in one. Not so adventurous, but no less hot was today’s Thame 10k. Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney cam home 1st V60 in 38.38. He was joined rapidly by Dominic Baker in 39.41, and Kingsley Nanton (44.16). AND NOW FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT: On 11 July Club President Neil Thubron will be celebrating his 60th birthday in the only way that runners know how. By running. The aim is to run / walk for 60 hours, continuously (that’s two and a half days!) to raise a mimimum of £5,000 for charity. Support Neil here and find out where he’ll be running so you can join him en route. Night time company especially welcomed! COMING UP LOCALLY: SEAA Combined Events Championships, Youth Development League, Second Sunday 5, Southern Athletics League and the Humanity Direct Chiltern Ultra. You can also join the Club at the Chesham Hats Off Festival on the afternoon of Saturday 12 July. For these events and more, visit the Club Calendar.
