Good Evening, Race Report fans. The Spring Marathon season is truly and properly upon us, as is the sunny Spring weather. But for those for whom a marathon is just not enough, we’ll kick things off with a report from yesterday’s Chiltern Ridge Classic 50k. A point-to-point race from Berkhamsted to Wendover, it takes in the local beaty spots (aka hills) of Ivinghoe Beacon, Coombe Hill and Whiteleaf. On a day where the weather matched the stunning scenery, James Hudson was home first in 4.19.22. He was joined swiftly by: Russell VandenBrekel in 4.48.26 (course PB); Mark Nicholas in 5.02.02; and honorary Harrier Richard Quantrill in 5.02.27. For a course that tough, those are truly awesome times! This Reporter is very envious, and tired just thinking about it…. Moving on to the marathons, in Manchester today Lauren Mayot was rewarded for all her hard training with a PB time of 3.45.53. Sylvia Moss valiantly battled through cramp to complete the course in 4.17.12 and Louise Whyte came home in 4.45.26. In Newport Abi Askey earned herself a marathon PB of 3.37.47, and Miriam Kempson overcame blisters to finish in 4.17.56. Well done, Chiltern Marathon Women!
And, finally, in Poland Tim Margetts did the Krakow Marathon, completing it in 3.51.43. PARISH NOTICES FOR EARLY MAY
