Good Evening, Race Report fans. I hope you’ve had a tremendous weekend. Your Humble Reporter is just back from a couple of weeks’ holiday, and feeling much refreshed for it :-) And, you’ll be glad to know, I’ve a fair bit of reporting to catch up on. First of all, huge congratulations to the Club for putting on yet another successful event on Sunday 28 September: the Shardeloes Trail 10k. There were more than 20 Harriers running on the day (so you’ll forgive me for not mentioning everyone). CHAC’s ladies took the team prize; James Turner was 3rd overall (41.23); James Malin - the first U20 male (45.30); and Rebecca Lawson - the first U20 female (54.28). Huge thanks to all the organisers and helpers on the day / during set-up. You can find the full results here.
In fact, 28 September was a busy day for racing. In the Ealing Half Marathon Daire Stack clocked a highly impressive 1.15.01, joined very swiftly by 1.18.36. Graham Collett was first in his age category at the Moor Park 10k in 40.12. Up in sunny Scotland Chris Pitkin took part in the Loch Ness Marathon competing the event in 4.28.59. Jessie Keighley took part in the Windsor Half Marathon and, despite battling a virus, finished in 1.39.56. Moving back in time to the XNRG Humanity Direct Tring Ultra on 20 September, birthday girl Katie Royals was second woman in 5.11.30. Dom Baker led the Club home in 4.43.01. Joining them both in the 50k event were: Tom Finch (5.20.57); Archie Bellamy (6.27.24); and Tim Dutfield (6.43.07). In the 27k race Lauren Mayot was first in her age category in 2.58.26. She was joined by fellow musketeers Giles Greenhalgh (2.58.33) and Heidi Folkard (2.59.05). And yet further back still, on 13 September Ben Hannen took part in the Suffolk Coastal Path 50k. Taking in the route from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh, Ben finished in 5.42.31. Meanwhile, over in sunny Austria, Alistair Melville-Smith had a brilliant run in the Wachau Marathon, finishing in 2.55.44. Well done, everyone! COMING UP LOCALLY: the return of the Chiltern Cross Country League, Tring Ridgeway Run, the Maidenhead Half, Last Friday of the Month 5k. Find out more on these events and others on the Club Calendar. RACE REPORT NEEDS YOU: If you’ve done a race, or know someone who has, be sure to email the result to [email protected] so that I can feature them in Race Report. Similarly, if you see any local events missing from the Calendar, do get in touch at the same address. Comments are closed.
