Race Report: the chocolate egg edition

Happy Easter, Race Report fans. Hope you’ve had a cracking good time. With junior Race Reporter snuggled in her bed, I find myself unexpectedly with time on my hands to write you a missive from a now-sunny Amersham evening.

Without further ado, I am delighted to share the wonderful news that there is now a new smallest Harrier :-) Aran Davidson and Laura Gardner welcomed their second little girl earlier this month. Correspondents reported that she was seen, only days old, at Wendover parkrun. I guess she’ll be a trail runner then…

In terms of racing there was a good turnout at the Maidenhead Easter 10 on Good Friday. Adam Shute led the Club home, finishing 3rd in his age category in a (chip) time of 57.29. Daire Stack must have been literally snapping at his heels, coming in in 57.46. Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney was 1st in his age category (who else?) in a time of 1.03.06. They were joined by: Rich Moss (1.10.41); Ed Wright (1.15.50); Sylvia Moss (1.19.13); Tony Dawson (1.20.35); and Tamsin Finch (1.34.17).​

Undeterred by the weather, three stoic Harriers took part in the Beaconsfield 5 trail race today. Ben Hannen was first home in 34.09, joined by Ade McCormack (42.20) and Steve Field (58.51). Huge thanks to Ben for sending through the results to me.

A massive good luck to all those competing in the Manchester and London Marathons next weekend. You’ve got this one in the bag.

And, finally, don’t forget to return your Club renewal form and pay your subs. More details from Membership Secretary, Tamsin Finch, here. Anyone who fails to pay their subs will be fed to the Easter Bunny.
