There were some good performances from Chiltern athletes at the Southern Cross Country Championships at Beckenham on Saturday. Although the club only completed one team, there were some great runs and several inside the top fifty in the various races. Conditions were good at Beckenham Place Park with a dry, clear day and the courses ran fairly firm despite recent rain. The U15 Boys were first off and featured the club’s only complete team of the day. Harrison Lawrence led the team home in 88th and the other scorers were John Rooney (106th), Josh Woodward (128th) and Isaac Taylor (167th). Hector Gamblen was 205th. The team were 18th.
Chloe Willson was an excellent 25th in the U13 Girls race, and Sunaya Nanda (45th) and Emilia Ingham (100th) also had good runs. There were also three Chiltern finishers in the U13 Boys with Barnaby Williams 103rd, Jack Dalton 110th and Thomas Cooper 167th. Nell Frost continued her recent good form to finish an impressive 17th in the U15 Girls race with Juliette MacDougall running well to be 50th. Chiltern’s U17 men had finished highly in some of the autumn relays but had a depleted team on Saturday. James Henderson had to drop out pre-race through injury and James Holdsworth had to drop out midrace. However Tom Ford ran well for 15th and Edward Johnson also did well for 20th. Aidan Suleyman was 148th. The last Chiltern interest was Jocelyn Davies who ran well with a strong finish for 22nd in the U20 Women’s race. Comments are closed.
