Nineteen Chiltern athletes took part in the Southern Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Horsenden Hill, Greenford on Saturday. This high-level meeting features some of the strongest English counties, so an opportunity to race against some of the country’s leading runners On a cool, drizzly day, the races on a soft and gently undulating course began with the U13 girls. In her county debut Sunaya Nanda had a great run to lead home the Bucks team in 29th. Lottie Monnington also ran well to be fourth Bucks scorer in 55th. In the U13 boys race Barnaby Williams finished in 81st for Bucks and Jack Dalton was 86th for Herts.
Maya Davis was third Bucks U15 girl in 41st and Nia Clarke fifth Bucks finisher in 97th. There were three Chiltern boys in the Bucks U15 team, with Harrison Lawrence fourth county lad in 79th, Isaac McCall sixth in 94th, and John Rooney eighth in 99th. Edward Johnson was first Bucks man home in the U17 race in an impressive 15th. James Holdsworth was fourth Bucks scorer in 36th, and Aidan Suleyman was sixth Bucks in 46th. Herts’ Tom Ford had a rare off day to be third Herts scorer in 26th. Evelyn Wildman also a had a rare off day, seventh Bucks finisher in 68th in the U17 women’s race. Alex Whitfield had another strong run, however, to be first Herts women home in 29th. The final race of the day with a Chiltern interest was the U20 women running in conjunction with the senior women. In the U20 section Jocelyn Davies was first Bucks runner home in 29th with Roxie Jones third Bucks scorer in 44th. For the Senior Women Katie Royals was first Bucks in 41st and Charlotte Docwra second in 42nd. Comments are closed.
