Good Evening, Race Report fans. As Christmas draws close, I owe you some stellar updates from sunnier climes. On 7 December Daire Stack and Adam Finch were in action in the Valencia Marathon. And, in the end, there was only a minute between them. Daire came home in 2.36.45 and Adam in 2.37.45. Just terrifying!
Meanwhile, yesterday, Saturday 13 December our very own Richard Slade took on the best of Europe as part of Team GB at the European Cross Country championships at the Mediterranean resort of Lagoa, Portugal. In far sunnier, sandier-looking surroundings than we are used to for cross country, Richard came home in a brilliant 38th out of 83 finishers (23.25). He was the fifth Brit home, with the team finishing just outside of the medals in 4th place. SENIORS CHRISTMAS MEAL: this is your very last chance to book your slot at the meal on Tuesday, 16 December. Even if you are not able to join for the meal, you are still very welcome to join the training session in a silly / festive hat. You can find full details of the Yuletide programme, including how to book the Christmas meal here. COMING UP LOCALLY: while the schedule might slow up a little at this time of year, the racing certainly doesn’t. There’s still chance to do the Last Friday of the Month 5k, our very own Christmas-party-in-relay form The Bran Tub, or join the Club and Arctic One Foundation at the Pednor 10. For these events and more, check out the Club Calendar. REMEMBER: Race Report is driven by you. If you’ve done an event, or know someone who has, email the results and any photos to [email protected]. Similarly, if you see events missing from the Club Calendar, let me know in the same way.
