Chiltern Harriers U13s and U15s had their best YDL LAG match of the season at Eton on Sunday. Having been seventh, seventh and sixth in the first three matches, Sunday saw the team a well earned fourth, with the U13 Girls being the strongest from the seven teams competing.
Mild, dry weather made for good conditions at Eton and there were many season’s bests and personal bests on show. There were also good showings from several newbies. U15 Boys Emile Morti did well at new events winning A string high jump with 1.60m and coming second in A string 200m in 23.63. Emile also came third in A string discus. Taye Awuku-Chan also had a busy day, third in A string 100m in a PB of 12.08, second in long jump with 5.18m, and second in 80m hurdles in 11.61. Aarav Johnson scored useful points in B string 100m and 200m. Colin Miles ran A string 300m and there was a PB for Raphael Tsolaki in B string. Kit Dixon and Raphael competed well in 800m, as did Isaac McCall and Jacob McCall in 1500m. Colin was second in B string 80m hurdles. In the field Kit helped with B string long jump, and Isaac and Jacob looked after shot. Isaac threw B string discus, and Colin and Kit looked after javelin. The 4 x 100m team of Aarav, Emile, Jacob and Taye were a very good second, and the 4 x 300m team consisted of Aarav, Isaac, Raphael and Kit. U15 Girls There was a convincing win for Kara Gorman in 1500m A string with Mimi Daley taking care of B string. Evelyn Wildman was second in A string 800m with Maya Davis second in B string. The 300m saw a PB of 45.28 for Evelyn and Pia Walsh also ran a PB in B string to be third. Newcomers did well in the short sprints with Chaise Duff and Sophia Moore running 100m and Chaise and Amy Quick 200m. Gaia Ferraro ran A string 75m hurdles and also non-scoring 100m. Chaise and Kara did well in long jump and Evelyn and Amy scored useful points in high jump. Anais Majekodunmi threw A string hammer and B string discus and shot. Mimi was A string discus and Amy A string shot. Maya and Kara looked after javelin. Amy, Mimi, Chaise and Sophia ran a season’s best in 4 x 100m relay, and a strong 4 x 300m team of Maya, Kara, Pia and Evelyn were third, also in a season’s best. U13 Boys As with the other matches a small team covered as much as possible, Isaac Taylor running a PB in A string 150m, coming second in 800m, and doing well in long jump. Jack Dixon also ran 800m, was B string long jump and B string javelin. Newby Nicholas Janisch was second in A string javelin with an impressive 20.50m and also did A string shot. U13 Girls The U13 Girls were the star team, finishing top of their age group. There was a double win in 1200m, Juliette MacDougall running a big PB of 3.55.65, and Bea Robinson winning B string with a PB of 4.13.27. Holly Knott was second in A string 800m, Alice Martin second in B string, and Soraya Roughton ran a PB in non-scoring. Amariah Odogwu was third in A string 75m, and ran a PB of 21.72 in 150m. Bronwen Harman ran a PB in B string 75m and Bethan Lloyd did well in B string 150m. Bethan had an excellent run in 70m hurdles to be second and Holly Knott was second in B string. Bethan and Holly combined again for a double win in high jump, with PBs of 1.40m for Bethan, 1.35m for Holly. Aliyah Haigh provided another A string win in shot with 7.14m and Soraya Roughton was second in B string. Bronwen Harman was second in A string javelin with Juliette MacDougall winning B string. The 4 x 100m team of Bea, Amariah, Holly and Bethan were sixth. Comments are closed.
