There was a small Chiltern contingent contributing to the Wycombe and Chiltern composite team in the first YDL Upper Age Group match of the season at Perivale on Sunday. Although only 27-strong the composite finished a comfortable second place in the five-team division.
U20 Jack Turner collected two more PBs to log 4.37.12 to win B string 1500m and 62.24 in B string 400m. Callum Powell took the U20 A string 1500m win in 4.18.48. James Henderson won U18 B string 1500m in 4.44.25. In the U18 800m Charlie De Sousa ran a PB of 2.23.51 to be third. In U20 800m James Henderson was second in 2.19.44. In U18 2000m steeplechase A string Edward Johnson was second in 6.46.02 and James Malin made a good debut to win B string in 6.54.19. Abi Masters was the sole Chiltern sprinter involved running 14.14 and 29.61 in her 100m and 200m. Evelyn Wildman continued her great start to the season with a win in 1500m steeplechase, recording a PB of 4.53.43. Issy Robinson won B string in 5.45.02. Abi was part of the U18 4 x 100m team that came second, and Evelyn, Issy and James were in the mixed 4 x 400m relay team that were also second. In the U18 men’s 4 x 400m James Malin, Charlie De Sousa, and Edward Johnson joined Wycombe’s Adam Heywood to be second. The second match is at Jarman Park on May 24th. Comments are closed.
