Trailblazers
Sunday 20th October 2019 - 9.45am
Hampden Common
Park along lane next to cricket field just South
of the Hampden Arms, HP16 9RQ
Trailblazers is back at Great Hampden after a long break.
This venue is about twenty minutes drive from Chesham, on the top of the Chilterns in peaceful rural country with spectacular views and hills!
The courses follow part of the Ridgeway, with all the runs climbing Pulpit and Whiteleaf Hills but not Coombe Hill. These are more testing courses than recent Trailblazers and the longest one should be undertaken with some caution.
There is the option of meeting afterwards for drinks at the Hampden Arms, a small country pub, nice to sit outside in good weather.
All club members, walkers and friends are welcome.

The small print:
I draw up these route maps using ordinance survey maps and Memory Map software. Although I have run most of the routes used for Trailblazers events I do not have the time to run around them prior to each event to check for accuracy, obstructions and changes to footpaths and byways. It is likely that there may be tree falls and very muddy sections after recent high rainfall. Reasonable map reading skills are required and there may be a need on the day to find an alternative route. It is requested that runners keep in groups and do not leave individuals alone with the risk of getting lost. This is all part of the Trailblazers ethos where exploring the Chilterns in the company of fellow club members is as important as the time to complete the course. All participants must take due care and avoid taking unnecessary risks. Club insurance covers all members who have paid their subscription. If you have any concerns please contact me prior to the event. The location and routes this month have been used before but care should still be observed.
I have not visited the pub recently but there should be a small pub area for drinks but it may be booked out for food.
