5k... on track and trail: Race Report 27 - 29 July

Good Evening, Race Report fans. I hope you have managed to dodge the rain clouds this weekend.

The weekend started on Thursday (from a racing perspective) for Richard Slade and Ollie Jackson this week. Both took part at the Tracksmith 5000m at the London Marathon Community Track (formally the 2012 warmup track). Richard was 3rd in his race in a time of 14.44.05, while Ollie was 5th in his in 16.03.08. For that matter Richard earned himself a blistering new 5000m PB a few weeks ago, 12 July, in Birmingham, where he clocked a time of 14.31.19 at a British Milers’ Club regional event.

As for this weekend, there were some top parkrun results by Chiltern Harriers AC. Sarah Quantrill and Katie Royals were doing it for the girls, with first placed finishes at Black Park and Church Mead (21.40 and 22.46, respectively). Well done to Aidan Suleyman, who earned himself an all time parkrun PB at Didcot, in a time of 17.28. Finally there were course PBs for: Steve Mayes (20.44 at Ricky); Thomas and Emily Ford (19.29 and 20.31 at Gadebridge) and Seb Lawrence (22.10 in Wendover Woods).​
