U15 Alden Collier and U17 Oakley Denson had a busy few days last week, featuring in two high level meetings. U15 Archie Pinder joined them at one.
On Wednesday 4th the pair made the trip to south-east London to run in the British Milers Club Regional Meeting at Eltham. Alden was in the men’s 800m C race and had a superb run to be third, improving his PB by three seconds to 1.55.88. This puts Alden way ahead in the U15 national rankings. Oakley was third in the men’s 1500m C race and also beat his previous PB by a big margin, running 4.09.35. On Saturday 7th Alden and Oakley were in the England Athletics U15/U17 Championships which this year was away from its usual home of Bedford, the venue instead being Sportcity, Manchester, the scene of Alden’s English Schools 1500m win in July. Alden again ran 1500m in a field of only four athletes but including strong local rival Gianleo Stubbs from Shaftesbury Barnet. A fast race saw Alden take his second national title in a fast time of 4.07.97. Oakley ran in one of several U17 men’s 800m heats and ran 2.00.77 to be fourth. In addition at Sportcity U15 Archie Pinder took part in a straight final of 3000m and was eighth in 9.36.14, just a second away from the PB he set earlier this season. Comments are closed.
