A special festive edition of Race Report brings you the results of this year's Bran Tub Relay. Under the watchful eye of Sue Slade the annual event once again brought together seniors and juniors for an enjoyable morning of racing at Hervine's Park in Amersham. For some, it was an opportunity for a reunion after returning from University or overseas, while others enjoyed the chance to test their mettle in the snow against their regular training partners. 55 athletes divided into 11 equally-matched teams sped round 1500m legs of the park, with team captains having to go twice. The silver team of Sammy Bennetts, Lucy Wilkinson, Sarah Quantrill, Evelyn Wildman and William Brown came out victorious, in a total time of 30.39, and with the fastest individual male and female leg runners (William Brown and Lucy Wilkinson). They were joined by the White and Pink teams in second and third, with combined times of 30.44 and 31.08. (White: Thomas Redmond, Carys Jones, Lily Jessop-Tranter, Izzy Martin and James Holdsworth; Pink: Tom Dixon, Charlie Stone, Clive Docwra, Emily Ford and Tom Ford.) Following the event everyone enjoyed hot drinks and snacks provided by kind volunteers and racers picked their chocolatey prizes out of the Bran Tub. Well done to all, huge thanks to the organising group and volunteers, and a very Merry Christmas to everyone. Full results are available here. Photos courtesy of Sue Slade. Comments are closed.
