Bucks Schools Cross Country took place in glorious sunshine at Stowe School on Wednesday. There were several Chiltern Harriers athletes competing for their schools and attempting to gain selection to represent Bucks Schools in the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Nottingham on March 18th. Year 7s ran for selection for the Primary Schools and Year 7 event in Prestwold Hall at the end of March.
Minor Girls The Year 7 (Minor) Girls race was a predictable Chiltern 1-2-3 with Kara Gorman winning from Maya Davis and Nia Clarke. Carys Jones ran well for seventh from 119 finishers. Minor Boys In the Minor Boys Luke Coultate was fifth, Jacob McCall eighth, Isaac McCall 11th, and Kit Dixon 28th. Junior Girls The Year 8 and 9s run as Juniors and the very high quality girls race saw Issy Robinson fifth, Marlie Nkoane seventh, Megan Lockwood tenth, Katie Allsop 12th, Abi Masters 27th, Keya Kara 43rd, and Lydia Cross 45th. Junior Boys Billed as 4k, the Junior Boys turned out to be about 4.8k, a tough ask on a hilly course. Thomas Reynolds was an excellent fourth, Aidan Suleyman eighth, Charlie Quantrill 12th, Felix Danielli 16th, George Mawby 18th, Eddie O’Brien 23rd, Zach Cleary 24th, Dylan Rossi 28th, and Theo Roughton 58th. There were 135 finishers. Inter Girls The Intermediates ran on the same 4k course as the junior boys but added in were the Senior Girls to make a fuller race. Lucy Wilkinson continued her great season to secure the win, Also running well in a race with several Chiltern girls competing were Lesedi Nkoane seventh, Lily Jessop-Tranter ninth, Olivia Clarke tenth, Jo Snelling 12th, Alice Peckham 13th, Rebecca Lawson 18th, Jocelyn Davies 20th, Sofia Lomas 25th, Charlotte Hewson 36th, and Ellie Gowers 38th. Inter Boys The Inter Boys and Senior Boys tackled a 5.6k route. The Inter race saw good packing from Chiltern athletes with Archie Pinder second, Alex Hughes third, Euan Pinder sixth, Daniel Munn seventh, Callum Powell 12th, Toby Pullen 13th, Rory Hilton 14th, and Max Roughton 16th. Senior Girls Just ten Senior Girls faced the starter. Maddie Hughes ran well for second, Ellie Shield third, Maddie Rae fifth and Charlotte Docwra ninth. Senior Boys Sammy Bennetts was an excellent third in Senior Boys and Tom Askey tenth struggling with painful knees. Comments are closed.
