Forty Chiltern young athletes took part for their schools at the Bucks Schools Track and Field Championships at Milton Keynes on Saturday. It was a very warm and sunny day so tough to get good times. However there were many good performances, PBs and individual wins for the Chiltern athletes taking part. Minor Girls
The Year 7s had a larger than usual range of events to choose from. The 800m races saw a win for Kara Gorman in 2.28.2. Maya Davis won silver in 2.33.8, Nia Clarke fifth in 2.38.8 and Carys Jones 10th in 2.48.1. Nia won silver in long jump with 3.88m. Kara was fifth with 3.57m and Carys sixth with 3.48m. Minor Boys Newcomer Shaun Gonos-Mashavira had a good day with a win in shot with 9.41m and third in 100m in 13.9. Luke Coultate won silver in 800m in 2.30.1 with Jacob McCall fifth in 2.44.6. Jacob won silver in long jump with 3.59m. Junior Girls Abi Masters was fifth in the 100m final in 14.2 and won the 300m final in 45.00. In the 100m heats Iris Foreman ran 14.8 and Rachel McLoughlan 15.2. Zoe Aleksandrova was fourth in the 300m final in 51.4. In 200m Iris Foreman ran 30.8 to qualify for the final but didn’t take part. In the 800m heats Issy Robinson, Lydia Cross and Evelyn Wildman all made it to the final, Evelyn in a PB of 2.27.4. In the final Issy was fourth in 2.21, Lydia fifth in 2.30 and Evelyn sixth in 2.33. The 1500m saw Marlie Nkoane third in 5.12.2 and Katie Allsop sixth in 5.25.7. Rachel Achieved 4.05m in long jump and 1.15m in high jump. Iris Foreman was third in javelin with a PB of 21.29m. Junior Boys Dylan Rossi was fifth in 300m in 45.0. In-form Mattie Gemmell was third in the 800m final in 2.21. Zach Cleary was sixth in 2.31 after having run a PB of 2.28.7 in the heat. Aidan Suleyman was second in 1500m in an impressive 4.31.8. Taye Awuku-Chan was second in 80m hurdles in 13.0 and won high jump with 1.55m. Oscar Gregory was fifth in discus with 16.43m and Charlie Quantrill was eighth in javelin with 20.03m. Charlie also ran 2.29.8 in the 800m heats, just missing out on a place in the final. Intermediate Girls Yasmin Warnes was fourth in 300m in 45.5. Lily Jessop-Tranter won 800m in 2.28.4 with Olivia Clarke second, Alice Peckham third, Jo Snelling fifth and Rebecca Lawson sixth. Lucy Wilkinson won an exciting 1500m in a great time of 4.43.1. Allegra Massey was third and Jocelyn Davies sixth. Ffion Harman was third in 300m hurdles. Florence Lee-Rubis won long jump in a PB of 5.16m and was second in 80m hurdles. Jocelyn Davies was fifth in high jump with a PB of 1.30m. Intermediate Boys Oscar Freemont was third in 100m in 12.2 and second in 200m in 24.2. Euan Pinder won 800m in 1.58.9 with Isaac Jesop-Tranter third in 2.00 and Rory Hilton fourth in 2.15.
