It was a warm, sunny weekend at Oxford Horspath for the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire County Championships. There were some great performances from the Chiltern contingent with several medals and personal bests. Saturday
It was a Chiltern 1-2-3 in the U13 Girls 1500m with new recruit (running in Wycombe Abbey colours) Alice Martin taking the win in a PB of 5.15.73. There were further PBs for Bea Robinson (5.19.59) in second and Emilia Ingham (5.27.67) in third. Annie-Rose Quantrill was sixth. Further success in the 1500m came in the U15 Girls with Kara Gorman taking the win in 4.40.29 and Evelyn Wildman third in a PB of 4.58.03. Maya Davis was fourth in 5.05.53 and Nia Clarke eighth in 5.33.29. The U17 women saw Issy Robinson seventh in 5.00.60 and Marlie Nkoane ninth in 5.12.04. Charlotte Docwra won the U20 1500m in 5.29.36. In the 1500m on the boys side, the U13s saw Zac Taylor fifth in 5.17.11 and Harrison Lawrence sixth in an impressive PB of 5.21.99. In the U15 race Raphael Tsolaki ran a PB of 5.19.71. Edward Johnson and Aidan Suleyman were second and third in the U7 men’s 1500m in 4.28.04 and 4.33.58 respectively, with Jack Turner running a big PB of 4.41.94 in eighth. Neil Turner was first Masters 50 in 4.43.92. In the sprints U17 Abi Masters ran a 300m PB of 43.87 to be fourth. In the U13 Girls 100m Amariah Odugwu ran a PB of 14.86 to be third. Abi gained her first medal of the weekend with bronze in the U17 women’s 100m in 13.64. Ysabelle Majekodunmi was eighth in the final in 14.33 after 14.29 in the heat. Mila Luker ran 13.12 to win U20 women’s 100m and Sarah Cross was third in the senior women’s event in 13.38. Emile Morti ran a PB of 11.71 to win the U15 Boys 100m with Taye Chan sixth in 12.51. Aarav Johnson ran 14.51 in the heat. Kieran Mortimer- Saunders ran 12.90 to be seventh in the U17 men’s 100m. Emile took a second win in 80m hurdles in 12.44 with Taye second in 12.67 and Colin Miles fifth in 15.81. Florence Lee-Rubis won U17 women’s 80m hurdles in 13.47. In the field Chisom Nwafor won U20 long jump with a season’s best 5.96m and Mila Luker was third with 5.18m. Florence Lee-Rubis won U17 long jump with 4.81m. Isla Dalby was fourth with 4.48m. There were good efforts in U15 Girls long jump with Nia Clarke fifth (4.00m), Celia Von Schacky sixth (3.87m), Disha Rao seventh (3.87m), Evelyn Wildman eighth (3.84m), and Gaia Ferraro 12th (3.52m). Anais Majekodunmi won U15 Girls hammer with 19.74m. Kieran Mortimer-Saunders threw a 30.75m javelin to be second in U17 men’s javelin. Sunday Amariah Odugwu took her second medal of the weekend with U13 Girls 200m silver in 30.16 and Bethan Lloyd won bronze in 31.50. Abi Masters won silver in U17 women’s 200m in 27.91. Harrison Lawrence won bronze in U13 boys 200m with 29.48. Ffion Harman won U17 women’s 300m hurdles in a season’s best 48.19. The U13 Girls 70m hurdles saw a Chiltern 1-2 for Bethan Lloyd and Holly Knott. There was another U13 Girls middle distance 1-2-3 in the 800m with Alice Martin taking her second gold of the weekend with 2.33.54, Juliette MacDougall second in a PB of 2.35.10 and Holly Knott third in a PB of 2.39.80. Also running well were Soraya Roughton fifth in 2.47.39 and Annie-Rose Quantrill sixth in 2.47.48. The U15 Girls 800m saw an A race and B race. Evelyn Wildman won gold with a big PB of 2.22.82 and Celia Von Schacky was fourth in a PB of 2.32.18. The U17 women’s 800m saw one of the best races of the weekend. Lydia Cross ran a season’s best 2.28.67 but, in a stacked line-up, did not make the final. Issy Robinson in the slower other heat qualified in 2.26.56 and Izzy McFetrich ran a PB of 2.36.10. In an exciting final Issy made a great push with 200m to go and was rewarded with an excellent silver medal and PB of 2.17.64. There was a second medal for Harrison Lawrence in the U13 Boys 800m, third in a PB of 2.37.67. Charlie Quantrill ran a great race to win silver in the U15 Boys race in a PB of 2.11.69 and Luke Coultate was sixth in 2.32.65. The U17 men’s 800m race was a straight final with Edward Johnson running a PB of 2.07.46 to win gold. Zach Cleary was sixth in a PB of 2.28.41 and Charlie De Sousa was eighth. Toby Radbourne ran 2.17.76 in the Oxon U20 Men’s 800m champs. In the field, Holly Knott won U13 Girls high jump with 1.25m and Evelyn Wildman won U15 Girls high jump silver with 1.35m. Bethan Lloyd and Soraya Roughton were a Chiltern 1-2 in the U13 Girls discus with 15.18m and 12.58m. Comments are closed.
