Good Evening, Race Report fans, and welcome to the first report of Advent. While there may be a chill in the air, the racing has been as hot as ever. First of all, congratulations to all those racing in cross-country events over the weekend: be it the Chiltern League in Luton, or the Nationals in Suffolk! Look out for a report to come from Steve Perkin. I’ll kick things off by a reminder of a few results from last weekend. Grant Whitaker earned himself the first of two mentions in this week’s report at the Last Friday of the Month 5k on 24 November, coming home in a very respectable 20.07. On Sunday 26 November, Harriers were well-supported at the Hatfield 5 (mile) race. Ali Young led them home in a time of 32.31, joined by: Kingsley Nanton (33.22); Mairead O’Rourke (33.53); Cath Holloway (37.45); and it was great to see former Harrier Kirstie Elliot in action (37.34). Moving on to this weekend, there were first placed parkrun finishes for Nick Hughes (18.47 at Church Mead) and Marlie Nkoane (21.48 at Gadebridge), while Mark Mayfield earned himself a course PB at Cassiobury (23.55). And finally, well done to Grant Whitaker for a great run at the Valencia Marathon (and Race Report mention number 2), completing the event in a great time of 3.30.12. DON’T FORGET: if you want to join the fun at the Seniors’ Christmas meal on Tuesday 12 December, please sign up via info here. We’ll be going for a tasty Lebanese meal after training in Chesham. COMING UP LOCALLY: Vale of Aylesbury Boxing Day 5k, Last Friday of the Month 5k and our very own Pednor 10. Check out more details on the Club Calendar here. Comments are closed.
