There were some great runs from Chiltern youngsters at the Schools Cup Regional Round at Stowe School on Saturday where places at the National Final were up for grabs. There were thirty-nine Chiltern athletes taking part for their schools.
Junior Girls The DCHS team were second and through to the final. The team featured excellent efforts from Maya Davis (2nd) and Evelyn Wildman (5th). Chesham Grammar did not go through but Nia Clarke (6th) was their leading runner. Junior Boys Charlie Quantrill (4th), Isaac McCall (12th), Eddie O’Brien (18th), and Luke Coultate (25th) ran well for DCGS who make the final. Theo Roughton had a good run for RGS in 23rd. Inter Girls Chesham’s girls did well to be second. Olivia Clarke (7th), Issy Robinson (9th), and Alice Peckham (22nd) were part of the team. DCHS did not make it despite good runs from Rebecca Lawson (18th), Keya Kara (37th) and Lydia Cross (39th). Inter Boys Alex Hughes (2nd), Daniel Munn (3rd), Rory Hilton (12th) and Aidan Suleyman (16th) were the scorers in the DCGS team that came third. Max Roughton (19th) and Isaac Collier (21st) featured for RGS, Aylesbury Grammar’s Zach Cleary was 25th and DCGS’s Mattie Gemmell was 27th. Senior Girls DCHS’s all Chiltern team won comfortably thanks to Maddie Hughes (1st), Frankie Baxter (3rd), Ellie Shield (4th), Lesedi Nkoane (6th), Olivia Edwards (7th) and Hannah Ashby (14th), Maddie Rae was 13th for Piper’s Corner and Sofia Lomas (15th), Jo Snelling (16th) and Tia Lomas (17th) were in the Wycombe High team that came second. Senior Boys The Senior Boys race was a high quality affair and the DCGS team was second to Abingdon (who were second in the National Final last year). Tom Redmond was 3rd, Isaac Jessop-Tranter 14th, Tom Askey 27th, and Max Baxter 37th. Chesham also qualified for the final in third and Archie Pinder 6th, Euan Pinder 7tth, Sammy Bennetts 20th all ran well. Comments are closed.
