Thirty-one Chiltern U13s and U15s were competing for their schools at the ESAA Cross Country Cup Regional Rounds on Saturday. Most Chiltern runners were at the East Central Regional Round at Sibford School near Banbury but a couple ran in the London North match at St Albans East Central
Junior Girls Frankie Baxter won the race with Lesedi Nkoane second leading home the DCHS team that came second. Rebecca Lawson was fifth DCHS runner in 30th place. Marea Logan and Lily Jessop-Tranter were seventh and ninth respectively for The Misbourne who also qualified for the final in third place. Jo Snelling (17th) and Sofia Lomas (44th) ran for Wycombe High who were sixth team. Junior Boys Chiltern runners were a strong presence in the Junior Boys race. Euan Pinder won the race for Chesham Grammar who also won the match. Also running for Chesham were Archie Pinder in fifth and Callum Powell in 20th. DCGS were close behind Chesham in the team stakes with Max Baxter (4th), Alex Hughes (8th), Isaac Jessop-Tranter (10th), Ethan McCall (17th), Daniel Munn (21st) and Rory Hilton (29th). Rowan Gawne ran well for RGS High Wycombe finishing 12th but the RGS team did not make the final. Inter Girls The DCHS sextet, all Chiltern Harriers, were dominant in the Inter Girls race with Holly Henderson (2nd), Abbie Henderson (3rd), Maddie Hughes (5th), Alice Brown (6th), Hannah Ashby (8th) and Ellie Shield (9th) completing a big win. Tia Lomas (14th) was in the Wycombe High team that came second behind DCHS. Inter Boys A high quality race saw good runs from Thomas Redmond (4th), Thomas Askey (6th), Matt Aldred (8th) and Oakley Denson (13th) to see DCGS second in the match. Mac Nisbet was 11th for John Hampden who also qualified for the final London North Junior Girls Emily Ford (25th) and Savarnah Pandya (30th) were part of the Berkhamsted School team that came sixth.
