Halloween Race Report

Welcome to the spoookkkyyyy Race Report, fans… the Race Report when things go bump in the night (or where I seek to come up with amusing, spooky pseudonyms for everyone, à la ‘Strictly’).

We start off by looking back into the mists of time (or, technically, 15 October) and to the Amsterdam Marathon, where Chris ‘That’s the German for death’ Tod managed a brilliant negative split in 3.32.24.

Coming back to the future (present), Ben ‘Halloween’ Hannen joined the other slithery customers in Serpentine’s Last Friday of the Month on 27 October, clocking a time of 21.05. Meanwhile in parkrun 5ks there were all time PBs for William ‘Shiver-me-timbers’ Shield (17.13, Southampton) and Calum ‘Stupefying’ Steer (also a first place at Hove Promenade, 16.52). Oliver ‘Jinxed’ Jackson came away with a course PB from Black Park (17.05). Meanwhile there was a good dollop of first placed finishes: Pablo ‘Poltergeist’ Fuentes (22.01 at Church Mead); Ellie ‘Bloodthirsty’ Bates (26.29 at Church Mead); and Alex and Maddie ‘Horrible’ Hughes (18.20 and 20.08, respectively, at Ashbourne).

Finally, Molly ‘Queasy’ Quinn was back on beloved turf in the Glasgow University 5 mile road race, clocking a (strava) time of 36.38.
