Happy Mother’s Day to all our running Mums, Mums of runners and Mums-what-are-both. I hope you have had a fabulous day and been thoroughly spoilt. You deserve it. Race Report HQ is a very chilled location this evening and we hope that your HQ is similarly relaxed. A huge well done first of all to Maddie Hughes and Alden Collier, who represented the English Schools Athletics Association yesterday in Wales. An ‘official’ read-out to follow, no doubt, but it certainly is brilliant to see Harriers amongst the best of the best. Rash Wanninayake completed marathon number 9 of 12 in 12 months yesterday at the Spring Time Turner by Saturn Running (a lapped event on the Thames Path) in a time of 5.24.09. Rashid is fundraising for our local Samaritans’ centre in Amersham. Support her here > https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rash12in12
It was great to see Andy Wiseall in racing form today, completing local even the Leighton 10k in 41.04. Well done. In parkrun news, Charlie Wood flew around the lakes at Rickmansworth, coming away with an all-time PB and a 1st placed finish in a time of 15.39. Marlie Nkoane similarly came out on top at Ricky, and with an all-time PB as well, in 19.03. She dragged Mum Bex round for a course PB of 19.04 - a mother’s day gift, apparently. Huge congratulations to Abi Askey and Rebecca Lawson, who also earned themselves all-time PBs of 21.26 and 23.25 at Rickmansworth and Marlow, respectively. Joining the first-placed finishers were Louise Fry (18.50 at Hereford) and Neil Turner (18.14 at Marlow, also a course PB). Finally, kudos for course PBs are due to Rosalind Firth (24.05 at Andover), Jay Grigson (23.44 at Macclesfield) and Ian Lawson (20.09 at Marlow). Not to miss out on the 5k action, Richard and Sylvia Moss took on the Last Friday of the Month by Serpentine AC, coming home in 20.17 and 21.27, respectively, Well done! COMING UP LOCALLY: Flitwick 10k, White Horse Half Marathon, Maidenhead Easter 10, Beaconsfield 5 and another Last Friday of the Month 5k. Check out the Club Calendar for more. Comments are closed.
