Good Evening, Race report fans. I hope you have had a lovely weekend and didn’t feel too bereft with the lack of Race Report last weekend. Chiltern Harriers had not one, but three athletes in action at the recent Age Group Sprint World Triathlon Championship in Hamburg, 13 - 16 July. And it turned out that Friday 13 July proved to be a lucky day for Maddie Hughes and Frankie Baxter, competing in the 16 - 19 age group. Maddie was crowned world champion for her age group, in a time of 1.09.40, while Frankie was not far behind in a very credible 6th position out of 43 in 1.11.24. Meanwhile, in the 50 - 54 age group, Neil Turner was 18th and third GB athlete home out of a total of 112 finishers. Continuing with our international, not to mention podium, theme, Sylvia Moss was 2nd in her age category in the Corrida Atlântica Comporta to Tróia: a 15km schlep on sand (why would you do that to yourself?!) today in a time of 1.26.18. Meanwhile somewhat closer to home Harriers were in action in the Dunstable Downs Trail Half. Steve Emery led the team home in 1.56.19, joined most rapidly by Paul McCarthy in 1.56.32 and Jennifer Webb in 2.18.09. In parkrun news Nick Hughes couldn’t help joining in with the winning theme in Hamburg coming home first in the Alstervorland parkrun yesterday in 17.18. Steve Mayes earned himself a course PB for Black Park (21.26), while Thomas Ford was awarded with an all-time PB of 17.11at Cassiobury Park.
Congratulations to all our awesome athletes! COMING UP LOCALLY: Waddesdon 5k, Youth Development League (Upper and Lower Age Groups), Last Friday of the Month 5k, Bearbrook 10k, Turnham Beeches Half & 10k, Southern Athletics League. Check out the Club Calendar for more. Comments are closed.
