Good Evening, Race Report fans, and I hope you have enjoyed a very pleasant weekend. It’s been a quiet one here in Race Report HQ, interspersed by lethal attacks by the latest feline addition to the household. Before we get into this weekend’s running, an apology for oversight of last weekend’s Berkhamsted 5 (mile) Fun Run… although with the times recorded, I’m not sure you could call it any ‘fun’! Our very own Charlie Wood came home in first place in a blistering time of 26.09. Tom Ford, representing Berkhamsted School on this occasion, was 3rd in 29.08, whilst Anna Dallas clocked a very respectable 38.45. Well done all! Yesterday Rashila Wanninayake completed marathon number 8 of 12 (in 12 months), in support of Samaritans - the Enigma ‘Week at the knees’ marathon - in a time of 4.57.44. If you want to sponsor Rash and support our local Samaritans branch in Amersham, visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rash12in12 . In parkrun news, yesterday saw course PBs for Katie Royals and William Mayhew (20.47 and 22.03, respectively, at Ricky), and for Ian Lawson (19.25 at Cassiobury). Meanwhile, Callum Powell earned himself an all-time PB of 19.26 at Rickmansworth. And finally, there were a number of Harriers in action at the MK Festival of Running today, 13 March. Despite a tough uphill finish, there were strong runs by Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney and Hannah Ryan in the 20 mile event, who clocked times of 2.19.12 and 3.11.41, respectively. In the 10k, Trevor Brawn came home in a very respectable 57.53. COMING UP LOCALLY: Ashridge Boundary Run, Hardwick X-Stream, Leighton 10 and more. Check out the Club Calendar for more.
