Good Evening, Race Report fans and well done - first and foremost - to all who took part in the fourth round of the Chiltern Cross Country League at Cassiobury Park yesterday. Chiltern had a strong turnout with provisional results available here. Watch this space for Steve Perkin's report. Due to cross country league events happening up and down the country other results are few and far between. We’ll kick things off with some ultra happenings. Firstly, a belated well done to Ben Martin, who joined fellow Harriers Rik Edwards and Annelize Colquhoun in the Country to Capital event last weekend. Ben completed the event from Wendover to Little Venice in 8.58.08. Meanwhile, this weekend saw Hywel Thomas taking a trip to the land of his fathers in ‘Run to the Castle’. The event takes runners from the seaside village of Aberdyfi up beautiful coastal path to the castle town of Harlech in north Wales, approximately 42 miles away. Howell finished in lucky 13th on 13th January, in a time of 8.00.50.3. Moving on to parkrun news, there were course PBs for Lizzie Barraclough (22.37 at Tooting Common); Ian Lawson (23.20 at Stockley Country Park); and Ella Watson (25.44 in Coventry). Louise Fry was first woman at Wycombe Rye in a time of 21.03, while Sebastian Lawrence was rewarded for his efforts in York with an all time PB of 20.04. Great running by all! COMING UP LOCALLY: the Fred Hughes 10 mile, Last Friday of the Month 5k, Mornington Chasers Regents Park 10k and the Watford Half Marathon. More details on these events and more on the Club Calendar.
