Good Evening, Race Report fans from your chilly Race Reporter. Once again, it’s been a great weekend of competing for Chiltern Harriers. Resident tough girl Rashi Wanninayake took part in her 13th marathon in 12 months yesterday, just one week after battling the Swiss mountains, completing the lapped ‘Yabba Dabba Doo’ event at Chasewater Reservoir, Lichfield, in a time of 4.40.57 (strava time). Meanwhile, over in sunny Spain Hannah Wardley and Neil Turner were both in action in the European Triathlon Duathlon age group championships yesterday. Competing over the sprint distance, Hannah clocked a time of 1.13.01, finishing 2nd in her age group and 3rd overall, and Neil came home 5th in his age group, in a total time of 1.06.25. Well done to our GB athletes! Moving back to the UK, and to parkrun, I think Rickmansworth parkrun must have seen a record turnout by Harriers, with 30 of our athletes taking part yesterday… and no less than 12(!) all-time parkrun PBs amongst them: Archie Pinder (16.36); Thomas Askey (16.45); Isaac Jessop Tranter (16.45); Lean Doran (16.53); Euan Pinder (17.50); Kara Gorman (18.26); Aidan Suleyman (18.29); Eleanor Shield (19.43); Lucy Wilkinson (20.11); Olivia Clarke (21.14); Hannah Ashby (21.23) and Michelle Gorman (22.55). Maddie Hughes was 1st female in an ever-impressive 18.13. Also earning herself an all-time PB yesterday was Christine Taylor at the Monsal Trail, in a time of 22.26. In Aylesbury Aran Davidson was 1st in 16.48, and there were course PBs for Joanne Murray, Claire Dickinson and Nigel Dickinson at Church Mead, Amersham (29.47, 30.42 and 34.57, respectively).
Trevor Brawn was the only Harrier to brave the Marlow 10 today, taking part in the 10-mile event and coming home first in his age category, by a mere 7 seconds, in a time of 1.45.31. COMING UP LOCALLY: Moor Park 10k, Ealing Half, Leighton 10k, Last Friday of the Month 5k, MK Autumn Run Weekend, the Abbots Langley Tough 10, the London Marathon, Herts 10k and Tring Ridgeway Run.
