Hello Race Report fans. After a couple of stormy weekends, it was good to see some racing action. Keep your eyes peeled for Steve Perkin's report of National Cross Country champs up in Nottingham, and the National U15, U17 and U20 champs in Sheffield. Spoiler Alert: Chiltern Harriers AC had some mega results at both events.
However, kicking Race Report off in the traditional way, we'll highlight a few parkrun results from yesterday, Saturday 22 February. There were first-placed finishes for Alicia Bushell (20.30 at Black Park) and Aran Davidson (18.42 at California Country parkrun). There was a number of course PBs: Sarah Quantrill andNigel Dickinson (22.03 and 26.22 at Ricky); Olivia Clarke (22.35 at Weymouth); John Webber (25.00 at Tring); and Harry Vintner (20.29 at Dalby Forest). Finally, Charlotte Docwra and Hannah Ashby were both rewarded for their efforts at Black Park with an all-time PB (21.14 and 22.33, respectively).
Moving on to today, Ben Hetherington was 3rd male at the Hillingdon Half, in a great time of 1.20.06. Joining him were Glen Martin (1.50.15) and Steve Field (1.57.01). Amber Stubbings entered the 2020 racing scene in the 10k event, finishing in 1.09.30. In Wokingham, David Thomas flew the Harriers flag in the popular half marathon event, coming home in 1.24.21.
