Good afternoon / evening, Race Report fans. I don’t know about you, but I, for one, have been very happy to see the sunshine this Bank Holiday weekend. I hope all of you who are just getting into your Half Term breaks have a thoroughly lovely break, and see lots more of Mr Sun and Mr Blue Sky (please tell us why, you had to hide away for so long.) Returning to last weekend’s running antics: on Saturday 22 May, Tom Pickett took part in the Ultra X Spring Trail Series 50k along the Serpent Trail, clocking up a hugely respectable 5.05.39 and 7th in his age category. Meanwhile, new Club member Lindsay Turner was in half marathon action at Dorney Lake, finishing in 1.46.03. On 23 May, Chiltern Harrier’s trio of terrific triathletes were duelling with the duathlon - specifically the Marlow Classic Middle Distance duathlon (5km Run/ 85.6km Bike/ 20km Run). Rebecca Nkoane came home in 4.37.44, with first female. She was joined by Joanne Murray (5.58.23) and Tessa Passey (6.04.50). Moving on to this weekend: Christine Burroughs was a fabulous first in her category at the Kempton Park Marathon on Saturday 29 May, with a PB time of 3.22.18 - not to mention negative splits for the race. Christine was inspired to enter at the last minute by Ed Wright, who bagged marathon #5 and a time of 3.47.25. Also on Saturday 29 May, Neil Bates was 3rd in the Running Tribe Half Marathon event held at the Chiltern Open Air Museum, in a time of 1.56.16. Whilst there were no official results available, Amber Stubbings clocked up a 1.03.30 for the Virtual Vitality 10,000 (10k). Comments are closed.
