Well, it’s certainly been a busy Bank Holiday weekend for Chiltern Harriers AC, with huge success for Club runners at parkrun events on Saturday 28 August. In what I think must be unprecedented domination, Chiltern’s ladies took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places at Black Park! ![]() Becs Nkoane was 1st, with a course PB of 18.58; daughter Lesedi - 2nd, also with a course PB (20.09); Frankie Baxter - 3rd, and a course PB of 20.18; Marlie Lesedi - 4th, and an all-time PB of 21.10 and Sarah Quantrill finished the set. In the male event, Nick Hughes was 1st in 17.06, joined by son Alex and nephew Max, with course PBs of 18.33 and 18.56, respectively; and there were all-time PBs at Black Park for Charlie Quantrill (20.27) and Stephen Henderson (21.29). Rickmansworth was similarly packed with Harriers, with Chiltern’s Charlie Wood and Kara Gorman taking 1st place in both the male and female events, both with all-time PBs (16.26 and 19.59, respectively). There were also all-time parkrun bests at Ricky for: Thomas Askey (17.11); Archie Pinder (17.43); Grant Whitaker (19.54); Abi Askey (21.35); and Charlie de Sousa (22.35), whilst Stuart Real Slavicky was rewarded for his efforts with a course PB of 19.43. ![]() Continuing our winning theme, James Palmer was 1st, and with a course PB at the very meta Parke parkrun (18.38); whilst Alden Collier took home the win at Cassiobury, and with an all-time best of 16.51, joined by Kate Loach as women’s winner (22.04). Finally, here were all-time PBs for: Jerry Anderson (18.46 at Redcar); Isaac Jessop-Tranter (18.20 at Cassiobury); and Charlotte Docwra (20.45 at Bolberry Down). In non-parkrun 5k running, Matt Channer was 1st home at the Risborough Run in the park yesterday, in a time of 21.39. On the roads (or tarmac paths) of Dorney Lake Ali Young was 2nd in age category at the Dorney Lake Half, in a time of 1.30.35, with Amber Stubbings also toughing out the lapped course in a time of 2.35.25. And finally, one of Harriers’ ultra-men was in action on the Ridgeway 86 (miles), 28 - 29 August, covering the distance for Ivinghoe to Avebury in 17.56.35 and finishing in an awesome 11th place. Well done, Super-Rick!
