Good Evening, Race Report fans from a Race Report HQ which is currently feeling pretty chilled. Although apparently there’s a football match in a bit and I guess that might alter things… Before we get into this week’s Report, a huge well done to Harriers competing in yesterday’s Chiltern League and the ESAA English Schools Cup Final. There were some brilliant results from CHAC at both events. A special thank you to those who took their stint marshalling yesterday at the Chiltern League: as you’ll know, this one marshalling spot each year is one of the few asks that the League makes upon us as a Club, so we really do appreciate people giving up their time to help out. Harking back to last week, there were brilliant runs by three of our athletes in the Liverpool Cross Challenge event on 26 September. In the U13 girls Kara Gorman came home in a brilliant 6th, and in the senior men - Will and George Brown were 54th and 64th out of a staggering 645 finishers. All three are brilliant results in high quality races. Well done! In parkrun news, Lyn Mellor completed her milestone 250th parkrun at Cassiobury park yesterday, clocking a time of 27.30. There were course PBs for Lizzie Barraclough and Charlie Stone - 21.35 and 20.16 at Bushy and Wollaton Hall, respectively. Finally, Mairead O’Rourke came out on top in Rickmansworth, finishing first female in 20.59. Continuing with 5k news, Grant Whitaker hit the streets of Marlow in a red suit and beard, joining the other Santas at the annual Marlow Santa Fun Run, finishing in 21.15 (strava time). Ben Hannen took part in the Osterley Park Winter 10k yesterday, with a time of 43.38. And finally, last but by no means least, Adam Shute was in marathon mode once again today, taking part in the Valencia Marathon. Adam took almost four minutes off of his PB, and his first ever negative split for a marathon, with a total time of 2.42.30. Amazing running! COMING UP LOCALLY: Aylesbury Santa Dash, Chiltern’s very own Bran Tub Relay, the Last Friday of the Month 5k and the county cross-country championships. Check out the Club Calendar for more.
