Good Evening, Race Report fans. With the Summer holidays well-and-truly underway, it feels like it has been a slightly quieter weekend from a racing perspective, albeit the results are no less hot than usual! ![]() Kicking things off with parkrun, huge congratulations to Ben Hannen, Aran Davidson and Chris Pitkin, who all earned themselves all-time PBs yesterday. Ben clocked 19.54 at Bushy Park, Aran - 15.47 at Rickmansworth (and a 1st placed finish as well), and Chris - 25.54 at Cassiobury Park. There were course PBs as well: Patrick Ahern and Martin Allen (20.30 and 23.40 at Rickmansworth); Lindsay Turnery and Victoria Lucas (24.26 and 25.29 at Wycombe Rye); and Richard Lloyd (27.52 at Church Mead, Amersham). Finally, Eleanor Shields was victorious on the hills of Church Mead in a time of 21.27. Today saw runners in action on the roads in the Bearbrook 10k. Despite the heat, Katie Royals came away 4th female in a very respectable time of 43.03. She was joined by Tamsin Finch in 52.25 and Ed Wright in 45.40. Well done to everyone running and racing this weekend. A small update in relation to the Shardeloes 10k: despite hopes to arrange the event his year, major parking problems have emerged resulting in the event not going ahead in 2022. We are hopeful of finding a solution for 2023. COMING UP LOCALLY: the 4th and final match of the Southern Athletics League will see the composite CHAC / Wycombe Phoenix team in action in Luton on Saturday 13 August and should see the team crowned winners of the Division after a strong year. Also: Ealing Eagles 10k, Burnham Beeches 10k and Half, Last Friday of the Month 5k, St Albans Stampede, Bedford Running Festival, Maidenhead Half, Oakley 20 and the Bovingdon 10k.
