Good evening, everyone. First of all, a big congratulations to all who were competing in cross country yesterday, Saturday 7 December, either at the Chiltern League or in the English Schools’ Athletics Association national final. No doubt a report will follow from Steve Perkin, but (spoiler alert) there were great results from Harriers at both events. In parkrun news, there were course PBs for: Ben Martin, Ade McCormack and Nick Gleeson (20.35, 21.18 and 22.10 respectively, at Ricky); Ethan and Carolynn Trimmer (22.55 and 24.28 at Rouse Hill); and Doug King (27.56 at Tring). Simon Dent and Nick Arthurton earned all-time PBs (26.39 at Ricky and 27.36 at Wendover, respectively). Finally, there were milestones for Beth Lang, who ran her 50th ever parkrun at Rickmansworth (22.59) and Kinglsey Nanton, who had his parkrun debut at Wycombe Rye (20.41). Well done everyone!
Moving on to today, Arwel Roberts completed the Weston Christmas Cracker 10k in Weston Super Mare in 47.45. Alan Hornibrook was 1st V60 in the Milton Keynes Winter Half in a time of 1.35.32, whilst Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney was 2nd V50 in 1.24.37. Congratulations! COMING UP LOCALLY: Aylesbury Boxing Day 5k, Pednor 10, County Cross Country Champs, Cliveden 10k and the 4th round of the Chiltern Cross Country League. Check out Club Calendar for more.
