Good Evening, Race Report fans. Well, I don’t know so much about ‘wonderland’ as ‘Winter Wed-and-windy-land’ at the moment. Anyone who braved the outside world this weekend is deserving of a medal, in my opinion, and a bonus advent calendar chocolate if you were racing. It really has been truly horrid! But brave souls there were, and we’ll kick things off with parkrun. There were first placed finishes for Mairead O’Rourke (26.43 at Church Mead) and Aran Davidson (16.52 at Rickmansworth). There were also plenty of course PBs: Jack Turner, 19.06 in Rickmansworth; Ed Wright, 24.31 at Wycombe Rye; and Martin Allen, 26.30 at Tonbridge; and even an all-time PB for William Shield (17.05 in Southampton). Down in the English Channel, Neil Bates was 2nd in the Sarnia Walking Club Hill climb - a 0.5m uphill race in Guernsey - in a speedy time of 5mins45. And finally, Fiona Kelleher earned herself her second fastest ever half marathon in a crowded and soggy MK Winter Half, in a time of 1.32.56. She was joined by Miriam Kempson (1.55.16), Harriet Lemon (1.57.44) and Tamsin Finch (2.00.55). IN OTHER NEWS: entries are now open for the Club’s London Marathon places in 2024. To find out how you can apply, check more info here. Please note that applications close on Weds 20 December, so don’t hang around! A reminder about the Senior Christmas meal which is on Tues 12 December in Chesham. It looks like there are a few places still available, so if you want to come along, please let Beth and Julia know as soon as possible.
