Good Evening, Race Report fans from a Race Report HQ that is finally starting to look a bit more like a completed decorating project. Whilst Your Humble Reporter couldn’t be happier about the prospect of not decorating at weekends, she is a little afeared of how rusty her weekend-long-run legs might be. Not so for ultra supremo, Dave Bellamy! And though it wasn’t to be this weekend at the Lakeland Trails 100k, I had to share this glorious photo of sunrise over Ullswater. Well done, Dave, for taking on the challenge. Amber Stubbings was also tackling the ultra distances in the ultra heat, completing a 50k during the ‘Race to the Stones’ event today, 10 July. Representing the wonderfully-named ‘Plodders Assemble’ on this occasion, Amber clocked a very respectable 9.36.11. Harking back to last weekend, I have to go you a full report of our Ironwomen in Austria. Joining Becs Nkoane (11.35.23) were Tessa Passey (14.29.36) and Joanne Murray (16.07.36) in absolutely fabulous performances. We could not be more proud of our beautiful superwomen. And on the subject of superwomen: congratulations to Finola Watkins for her 1st placed finish at the Maverick Chilterns event (short course) in a great time of 51.33, and to Louise Fry for a 3rd place and 1st in age category at the Run Through Regents Park 10k (39.39). In 5k news Richard Slade and Aran Davidson were in action at the MK 5000m PB Special yesterday, clocking blistering times of 14.54.70 and 15.24.87, respectively. At parkrun there were all-time PBs for Sylvia Moss, Steve Mayes and Charlie de Sousa (20.56, 20.52 and 20.58, respectively, all at Rickmansworth), as well as for Adam Finch (21.56 at Black Park). Sebastian Lawrence and Ben Hannen were both rewarded with course PBs (25.41 at Wycombe and 21.24 at Wendover Woods, respectively), whilst Max Baxter ran away with the win - once again - at Amersham, in a time of 19.47. And, whilst I admit that I am very behind on updating the Club Calendar, a quick mention for the fact that entries for the Bedford Run Fest (2nd - 4th September) close later on this month.
