A certain football match is taking most of the attention this weekend, but there’s still been some Sterling performances from the Harriers. I’m Shaw you can’t wait to find out what everyone’s been up to the past two weeks… 3rd – 4th July Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon Dave Williams and Chris Ryder came 35th out of 78 teams (Carrock Fell). Nearly 30 miles spread over 2 days with over 11,000 ft of climb, complete with a few Trippier hazards too! Richmond Park Half Marathon Jennifer Webb finished the Rice(ing) and falling half marathon course in 1:58:09. Regent’s Park 10k Grant Whitaker was 1st V50 at the Regent’s Park 10k, completing the course in 41.39. 7th July Hannah Wardley and Ian Lawson tested their speed at Wormwood Scrubs BMC Regional Races. Hannah ran a 1500m PB of 4:52.03, while Ian was also rewarded with a PB of 4:53.72. Saturday 10th July Chiltern Challenge 50km A group of Harriers endured 30 miles of hurt (marginally more pleasant that 30 years of hurt I’m told…) to complete the Chiltern Challenge Ultra on Saturday. Times are taken from Strava as I can’t find the official results yet… The Harriers finishers were: Hywel Thomas (5.01.24), Julia Aliaj (6.50.01), Matt Channer (6.50.27), Helen Cholawo (tbc), Glen Martin (5.45.14) Dave Bellamy (5.28.42), and Tessa Passey (tbc). A big shout out to Tim Dawson too, who gave his time to volunteer as course sweeper – meaning he completed the whole course while collecting all the signs and tape. Even the PM Boris Johnson showed up to support our fabulous Harriers! Race to the (John) Stones Nathan Taylor completed the challenging 100km in 12.05.28 Lakeland Trails Ultra 100km Ellie (Queen of Mud) Bates continued the ultra tastic efforts and completed the Lakeland Trails Ultra 100km, which started at midnight on Friday and featured a fair few (Mason) mounts. Ellie completed the course in a very impressive 15.06.53. Cory’s Moor marathon Cory Dyck ran a marathon round the Moor in Chesham – that’s 42 laps! Even more impressively, he ran it in a time of 3.19.24. Kane you believe it? He was supported by Ruth (Queen of Fly 5k) Holroyd, Mairead O’Rouke and Trevor Brawn. Sunday Bayston and Lyth Hill 10km Jonathan Fenner Pickford a tough course to test himself over the 10km distance. He finished the race in 1.07.44. (Strava time) Chiltern Ridge Half Further down South(gate) Jenny Bizley took part in the Chiltern Ridge Half. She finished the hilly route in 2.03.20 and was 3rd woman! (Strava time) Hatfield Vitality 10km Craig Fulham ran the 10km in a very speedy 39.03. (Strava time) Well done everyone! If you’re watching football tonight, enjoy - or if you’re desperately trying to avoid it – good luck!
