Race Report: Escape from Meriden, parkrun, St Neots Half, Wendover Woods and Watford 10ks20/11/2022
Good Evening, Race Report fans, from the Bates Motel which has the chilled-out vibe of your favourite pub this evening. We’ll start chronologically with Dave and Archie Bellamy who ‘Escaped from Meriden’ (very) late on Friday night. The aim of this particular game is to run as far as you can as the crow flies within 24 hours. The dynamic duo navigated turnips, cows and a fair amount of mud (I suspect) to complete almost 57 miles, ending up at the Nottingham Forest ground. Well done to Team Bellamy! Moving in to Saturday and to parkrun, Alex Paul and Katie Royals both walked away with honours from Church Mead, respectively first placed male and female runners in 20.02 and 22.22. There were also course PBs for Ollie Jackson (19.52 at Black Park) and Harriet Lemon (30.44 at Church Mead). The gold continued to flow for Sylvia Moss, who was first in her age category at the Watford Joggers Autumn 10k (49.06), joined by Lyn Mellor in 1.03.04. Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney had another great run at the St Neots Riverside Half Marathon in a time of 1.23.59, whilst Rich Lloyd was in action on the hills in Wendover Woods, completing the 10k event in 58.25 (strava time). A well done is also due to David Saul for taking on the Rugged Radnage. Results not available, so look out in a subsequent report. COMING UP LOCALLY: the third Chiltern League match of the season, last Friday of the Month 5k and the Wolverton 5. Check out the Club Calendar for more. Comments are closed.
