Happy New Year, Race Report fans. I hope that you enjoyed wonderful, happy holidays. A huge congratulations to all who took part in the Bucks, Herts (and any other) County Cross-Country championships over the weekend. You are complete legends. Watch out for a report from Steve Perkin to follow. It’s a relatively quiet start to 2022 for Race Report. First of all, I’d like to offer a belated congratulations to Javid Khan, who took part in the Valencia Marathon on 5 Dec, coming home in a fantastic 3.08.50. Well done! In parkrun news from yesterday, Saturday 8 January, there were two course PBs for David Saul and Chris Lower (26.27 and 21.21 at Dunstable Downs and Marlow, respectively). At Rickmansworth Sue Elliott came home with an all-time parkrun PB of 20.27, whilst Lyndsey Bill completed her first ever parkrun. Ever. In 26.17. Meanwhile Harrier Down Under, Carolynn Trimmer, reached the magic ton, finishing her 100th parkrun in 25.31. Today, David Howells took part in the rather awesome sounding / looking 'Round Sheffield Race', finishing the mud-tastic 20k / 11- stage race in 1.47.40. Well done, Dave! COMING UP LOCALLY: the fourth and fifth match of the Chiltern Cross Country League, Mornington Chasers’ Regents Park 10k series, Watford Half Marathon, the return of the Gade Valley Marathon Training Runs and the Bramley 10/10.
