Good Evening, Race Report fans. It’s a relatively quiet mid-August report for you this time. But that is made up for by the sheer enormity and awesome-ness of our friend Ash Holmes’ achievement in the legendary Squamish 50 mile in Vancouver, Canada. Ash clocked a total (strava) time of 11.24.09 for some 10,000ft of climb in an absolutely beautiful part of the world yesterday. Well done, Ash! Meanwhile, in parkrun news there was a first placed finish for Thomas Emery at Ricky in a blistering time of 16.54, and a course PB for Sylvia Moss at Sunny Hill. A small mention for the fact that Yours Truly had a fab day at the Southern Athletics League in Winchester yesterday. A composite South Bucks team made up of athletes from Wycombe Phoenix AC and Chiltern Harriers took the victory on the day, making promotion to the first division a realistic possibility on 9 September. Eep(!) Watch out for Steve Perkin’s report later on in the week, and do reach out to Steve if you are interested in competing or even just helping out with officiating on the day. I did a bit of both, and hugely enjoyed both :-) (As suspected, I have a natural affinity for the highly zen activity of raking a long jump pit.) COMING UP LOCALLY: Last Friday of the Month 5k and the Leighton 10k. For these events and more, including our very own Shardeloes 10k, check out the Club Calendar. PS. Complete the Club communications survey, because we want to get your attention. Comments are closed.
