Good Evening, Race Report fans. We’ll kick things off with some snippets from last weekend when Your Humble Reporter went AWOL.
Katie Royals was awarded with her first ever senior race win at the Misbourne 10k on Saturday 24 June, covering the hilly course in a time of 49.19. Chiltern’s James Palmer was the overall race winner in 40.15, meanwhile Katie Allsop was victorious in the 5k in 23.25. Allan Cairns clocked 56.11 in the 10k; Claire Dickinson - 65.47; and Neil Turner - 28.48 in the 5k.
In fact Neil was in action all weekend, heading from Great Missenden to Cardiff on Sunday 25 June for a 2024 World Sprint Triathlon qualifier and coming away with his first age group qualifier win over the 750m swim, 20k bike and 5k run. Well done, Neil!
Turning now to Thame 10k on 25 June, Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney was 1st V60 in an exhausting 39.12, joined by Tim Hipgrave - 1.01.13.
This weekend saw an all-time parkrun PB for Sebastian Lawrence at Rickmansworth (20.13) and course PBs for Philip Lewis (31.47 at Wendover Woods) and Nigel Dickinson (27.59 at Church Mead). Jonny Slade kicked off the weekend’s racing on Friday lunchtime, clocking a very respectable 18.07 at Serpentine AC’s Last Friday of the Month 5k.
At the inaugural Bradenham Blast today, 2 July, 10k Neil Turner topped off a fabulous couple of weekends with 2nd place finish over the hilly course in 43.15. He was joined by Ben Hannen (48.33), David Saul (1.06.10), Harriet Lemon (1.06.28) and Trevor Brawn (1.11.20, and 1st M70).
News just come in: well done to Tessa Passey for earning herself a good for age marathon time at the Goodwood Running GP, with a great time of 3.48.
