Top o’ the evening to you, Race Report fans, on St Patrick’s Day. I hope you’re not feeling the ill effects of any green Guinness and have enjoyed your weekend. Congratulations, first of all, to any Harriers who were in action at yesterday’s ESAA English Schools Championships in Pontefract. I know we had at least one pretty epic performance from Alex Hughes, so do keep your eyes peeled for the full report. If you’ve not read them yet, you may also want to catch up on results from the Inter-Counties cross country championships, held in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, on 9 March. Moving on to parkrun results from yesterday, Richard Quantrill and Ben Hannen both hit the 100 parkrun milestone, respectively at Black Park (19.50) and Church Mead (21.27). There were course PBs at Rickmansworth for Michael Sheppard (19.13) and Ade McCormack (20.38), as well as an all-time PB for Steve Mayes (20.38) and the welcome return of Katherine Day to parkrunning :-) Finally, Ash Finch came away with a first placed finish and an all-time PB on the speedy Cassiobury course, with a time of 16.28. In road running news, Katie Repper had a storming run in the Bath Half Marathon today, clocking a chip time of 1.28.22. She was joined by Finola Watkins in 1.44.10. Over in Milton Keynes, Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney and Rebecca Nkoane braved the 20 miler in the MK Festival of Running (in times of 2.18.15 and 2.38.13, respectively), while Ed Wright made a return to the Half Marathon distance in 2.20.39.
