Good evening, Race Report fans. I hope you have all had as wonderful a weekend as I have. We'll kick things off with parkrun events. Yesterday, Saturday 1 February, there were first placed finishes for Alicia Bushell at Black Park (19.46 - an overall PB) and for Yours Truly at Wendover Woods (20.44 - a course PB). There was a number of course PBs: Cath Holloway (24.29 at Wendover Woods); Ed Wright (26.41 at Crissy Fields in San Francisco); Ian Lawson (20.00 at Osterley); and Miriam Kempson, Harriet Lemon and Henrik Hartman (25.28, 27.00 and 29.52, respectively, at Black Park). Kara Gorman earned herself an all-time PB of 24.02 at Rickmansworth, whilst Tim Dawson celebrated his 300th parkrun at Black Park (where else?!) Meanwhile today, Sunday 2 February, saw the beginning of the Spring road running season and some podium finishes for Harriers. Becs Nkoane and Ali Young took first and second in their age category at the Egham and Thorpe Half Marathon, clocking times of 1.26.15 and 1.28.50, respectively, with Becs also third lady overall. Coming in swiftly behind them was Ben Martin, in 1.30.24. In the 10k event Dave Bellamy came home second in his age category, in a time of 46.43.
Over in Hertfordshire, many a Harrier was in action in the Watford Half today. Well done to: Julia Aliaj (1.50.29); Matt Channer (1.52.18); Helen Cholawo (1.52.22); Tony Dawson (1.43.05); Steve Field (1.59.02); Beth Lang (1.50.12); Phil Lovelace (1.32.30); Sylvia Moss (1.52.17); Mike 'Tiny' Turney (1.26.42); Grant Whitaker (1.41.41) and Tom Wright (1.47.03).
