Good evening, Race Report Fans. Thank goodness it stopped raining. I’ve put a halt on the ark that I’d ordered and the cat has ventured back out into the world. The Great British Summer not only continues from a meteorological, but also a sporting sense, and Harriers have been continuing to do us proud. Kicking things off with parkrun, there were first placed finishes for Charlotte Docwra (20.59 at Black Park), Kate Loach (21.59 at Darlington) and Marlie Noane (21.23 at Cirencester). Meanwhile, congratulations to Aidan Suleyman, who came away from Ricky with an all-time PB of 16.58 and to Lydia Cross, who also earned an all-time PB at the exotic Eden Project - 22.18. Finally, Rebecca Lawson was awarded with a course PB at Upton Court - 22.37. Moving on to today’s results, it’s been a good day for triathlons. First of all, well done to Amber Stubbings for a huge 15 minute PB over the Olympic distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run) in the Challenge London tri - an overall time of 3.30.40 (or 33.55, 1.31.18 and 1.12.26 plus transitions). And well done to Giles Greenhalgh in the epicly named Cowman Middle Distance Triathlon (1.9km swim, 90km cycle and 21.1km run). Giles clocked a total time of 5.49.26 (37.08, 3.03.41 and 2.05.17). In running news, Jenn Webb completed the Dorney Lake Half in 1.55.40. In nearby Aylesbury, there was a good turnout at the Bearbrook 10k. Adam Shute led the Harriers home in a top ten time of 35.08. He was joined by Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney in 38.38 (1st V60); Chris Gloster (39.08); Yours Truly (40.59); Ed Wright (44.58) and Allan Cairns (46.37). COMING UP LOCALLY: Burnham Beeches Half & 10k, Southern Athletics League in Winchester and the Last Friday of the Month 5k. Check out these races and more on the Club Calendar. Comments are closed.
