Race Report is not in the habit of giving public health advice, and it’s not going to break that habit… just pure, unadulterated running stuff here, I’m afraid. Matt Channer kicked the weekend off in style by winning the Phoenix Track Wars marathon event on the evening of Friday 13 March (luck for some!) His time was 3.44.24. Well done, Matt! n parkrun news, Saturday 14 March saw a number of wins for Harriers. Namely for: Ellie Shield (20.39 at Black Park, also an all-time PB); Ali Young (19.17 at Rickmansworth); Kate Loach (21.05 at Cassiobury); and Aran Davidson (19.15, a course PB, at Woolacombe Dunes). There were also all-time PBs for Rory Collins (24.23 at Rickmansworth); Alex Hughes (18.22 at Princes parkrun, Liverpool) and Belinda Chassebi (27.53 at Killerton). Katie Royals earned herself a course PB at Clapham Common (23.05); as did Steve Mayes (22.12 at Fleetwood Promenade) and Laura Gardner (31.15 at Woolacombe Dunes). Finally, Sarah Quantrill completed her 50th parkrun at Black Park in a time of 26.40.
Moving on to today, Sunday 15 March, Den Bailey had a cracking run at the Hampton Court Palace Half, finishing in 1.26.45. Meanwhile, a number of Harriers took part in the 20 mile event at the Milton Keynes Festival of Running. Nick Hughes won in a terrifying time of 1.58.32, joined by James Repper in a not-considerably-less-terrifying 1.59.28. They were followed in by Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney in 2.13.13 and Christine Taylor (3.01.52). Well done everyone! SAVE THE DATE: Chiltern Harriers AC Annual Social & Awards Evening - 4 July.
